According to McLemore, the fight was between the parents and fans of two North Carolina girls softball teams �" the East Wilkes Cardinals and the Blue Ridge Explosion. The squads were participating in a 12 and under softball tournament sponsored by USA Softball, which had rented the fields from Kingsport.

AppState1994 shows how ignorant you are. You throw in the race card but have no idea what you are talking about. You are no different than all of these other "brave" souls that hide behind computers and bash. The principal moving to another school was already happening prior to this incident and the new principal coming in is oh btw a black guy. Furthermore the team from the East area is a independent travel team that is not connected to the actual school at all. The go by East Wilkes because they are out of that area. Get your facts straight before you go running that ignorant trap.

I wonder if this team is sanctioned by the school? One link said they are called the East Wilkes Cardinals. Junk like that is a bad reflection on our schools. What would you think when you hear East Wilkes Cardinals.
