I’m proud of our Wilkes Defenders.

I especially liked that fellow who kicked the person on the ground. That was courageous.

I also liked the wimmin who were trying to shuck that fat feller out of his shirt.

If beer belly don’t rev you up, you don’t deserve to breathe Wilkes Air.

I’ve worked with people from East Wilkes. Dealt with people from East Wilkes. Have family that attends/attended East Wilkes. Also have some enemies from East Wilkes.

In all my life, I think I’ve only met maybe 5 people worthy of being labeled “sane” from East Wilkes.

Tight knit little community, which can be great. But if you piss one off, you piss off all the rest. Also, loads of drama, drama, drama.

Maybe your reliable source could come on here and answer some questions?

no but was anybody on this post there? if not we do not know exactly the manner in how it started or how we would have reacted. I know if someone charged my family with my kids there I would stand up for them

folks are quick to jump to conclusions and spread gossip. I was not there but I do know from a reliable source that you do not see the beginning of the fight in the video and what started it. I also heard that it was a parent from the other team that charged at a couple of parents from the wilkes team and they just defended themselves. would you fellow wilkes county folks not have defended your selves and your families?

I think this could happen with any group from Wilkes, no matter what area.

From what I read the other team was making comments and when confronted a parent shoved another and then it kicked off.

When I was in high school we never wanted to go to North Wilkes and I suppose the people from North Wilkes never wanted to go to West.

There's been a couple of folks who have insinuated this is par for the course for the East Wilkes area.

Does stuff similar to this (maybe not a fight, but ejections, etc.) happen at East Wilkes frequently? I'm sincerely asking.

This is what happens when a society bans **** (rooster, not penis) fighting.

All that pent up aggression has to go somewhere.

These are learned behavior issues. They have been trained by Ronda officials to protest chickens, water lines, and abandon houses. Fighting is all they know

I think the picture was doctored. I swear I saw Larry the Cable Guy there and you can tell that one guy in the back with his back turned is a plumber . He has the plumbers smile showing.

The video made Good Morning America news this morning.

I think independent groups like this should not be allowed to use names that insinuate they're from the school. This is a slam on the folks that work hard to make the school and athletic program a positive experience for our young people. Now the school and students are going to be viewed as a bunch of thugs.

It was the other teams fault.

The video was just briefly shown on national TV on Fox News. It was insinuated they’ll discuss it later in this hour.

Any “parents” want to come forward and publicly apologize?

This has been long over due. I'm actually surprised this is the first time a teams parents has got in a brawl with this Cardinal Heat group. They are the definition of EW fans, in any sport. A bunch of hot headed agitators. Sorry for the kids.

I feel sorry for the kids. What ever happened to win or lose doesnt matter just have fun.

I read that, and that would be a reason for yelling at the referees... not a good reason, but I could understand the excuse.

But not other parents, they weren't the ones making the call.

Apparently, East Wilkes thought the Blue Ridge team was getting some good calls. The parents had a confrontation, somebody got pushed, goddess squealed and it was on.
